German-Engineered Electric Motor Windings & Stator Coils
Windings represent the operational heart of any heavy-duty industrial electric motor. At MENZEL Elektromotoren, we manufacture high-performance copper windings engineered to withstand high thermal loads, extreme electrical surges, and severe mechanical vibration. Whether producing new high-voltage squirrel cage motors, slip ring motors, or custom direct current (DC) machinery, our German winding shop adheres strictly to IEC, VDE, DIN, and ISO quality standards.
Our proprietary winding insulation systems are specifically built for demanding industrial applications worldwide, including cement mills, jaw crushers, power plant fans, centrifugal pumps, and rolling mill drives. Through our advanced Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) and resin-rich manufacturing procedures, MENZEL delivers maximum electrical endurance and long-term operating reliability.
Technical Capability Snapshot:

Output Power Range: From 20 kW up to 25,000 kW (25 MW)
Thermal Insulation Classes: Thermal Class F (+155°C) and Class H (+180°C)
Quality Compliance: IEC 60034-1, EN 60034, VDE 0530, DIN ISO 9001 certified
State-of-the-Art Motor Winding Shop & Precision Manufacturing
Inside our specialized manufacturing plant in Hennigsdorf/Berlin, MENZEL operates computer-controlled precision winding machinery, computerized wire tensioning stations, and high-capacity drying ovens capable of accommodating massive stator frames. We exclusively utilize high-purity electrolytic copper wire and premium-grade mica insulation tapes.
Every newly inserted winding undergoes stringent inter-turn surge testing, high-voltage breakdown verification, resistance balance measurement, and partial discharge inspection prior to full load testing in our dedicated 25 MW test field facility. This rigorous multi-stage quality protocol ensures absolute reliability before global dispatch.
Thermal Insulation Classes F & H (IEC 60034-1)
Thermal stress is the primary driver of premature insulation aging in industrial machinery. MENZEL motor windings are standardized to Thermal Class F (+155°C) with temperature rise limited to Class B (+80K), providing an extra thermal margin for continuous overload conditions or high ambient temperatures. For extreme duty environments, full Thermal Class H (+180°C) insulation packages are custom manufactured.
Comprehensive Winding Types & Insulation Technologies
We engineer and manufacture specialized winding configurations tailored to specific electrical grid parameters, variable frequency drive (VFD) requirements, and physical frame sizes:
High-Voltage Form Windings

- High-durability commutating insulation for rolling mill and extruder applications.
Custom Re-Winding & Fast Electrical Adaptation
In addition to new production, MENZEL provides rapid adaptation windings for emergency replacement scenarios or technical plant modifications. If your operating plant requires voltage modifications, frequency conversions, or custom speed-torque torque profile adjustments, our engineering team can redesign and execute custom stator windings with minimal turnaround time.
